Gifts for Friends and Family
These embellished pocket calendars are just perfect for your purse or a gift for someone you love. The tree on the front is from the stamp set, Forest Friends (113748). It is embossed–versamark with black embossing powder on watercolor paper on which I did the Watercolor Background technique. My technique clubs learned this technique in October and everyone loved it! Added embellishments used include 3/8" Taffeta ribbon, Basic Rhinestones (119246), faux stitching, layers, dimensionals and punches. I printed "2011" on the printer using a couple of different fonts I liked to get the right look. I love how these turned out and would be proud to give a calendar like this as a gift.
Today I made tile coasters. It was easy to do and fun using different stamp sets and colors. To make the tile coasters, you need Stazon Ink or Craft ink for stamping. After stamping, I baked my tiles in the oven at 350 degrees for about 15 mintues to make sure the ink was set firmly. Then I sprayed the tiles with Krylon Crystal Clear spray, an acrylic coating. Two thin coats are recommended. To finish the coasters, I added felt pads to the bottom and my coasters are ready! On this set I used Baroque Motifs stamp set (113490), and Craft Chocolate Chip and Rose Red inks. I'm pleased with how they turned out.
Hope you come back soon to see my next handmade gift. Thanks for stopping by!
