Fun Flowers Book Mark

Posted by on Jan 21, 2011 in Other

I received this Daytimer and Big Shot Flower book mark at Leadership–a gift from my SAM. The flower is made with the Fun Flowers Big Shot Die #121812 from the Occasions Mini Catalogue with Melon Mambo cardstock and the edges of the petals are sponged in the same color.  A Big Button and trinket key with a "for you" tag add the finishing touches.

When I got home, I thought I'd make more book marks to give away. I gathered my supplies and realized I didn't have the Fun Flowers Die so I used what I had and here's a picture of what Kathy and I came up with.  Hope you like it as much as I do.

Kathy just joined my HandiCrafters team today so you'll be sure to read about her in my posts.  We usually craft together every week and love playing with Stampin' Up products.  Here's the receipe to create this book mark:

Blossom Petals Punch (5 large petals), the largest flower from the Blossom Party Die #115971, 5-petal flower punch, 1 small black button, linen thread, 4 you stamp from Tiny Tags stamp set #118091, 14" black Satin Ribbon. Sponge the edges of the flower petals with Melon Mambo classic ink. For the bottom embellishment on the ribbon, punch two 1" Melon Mambo circles, one 3/4" black circle and stamp Melon Mambo flower from Itty Bitty Bits on Whisper White cardstock.  Punch flower out with Itty Bitty Shapes Punch. Add a rhinestone to the centre of the flower and trim the end of the ribbon.  Curl the edges of the flower petals with a bone floder and use dimensions to put the flower together. Attach flower to top of ribbon and add a 1 3/4" circle to the back of the flower to cover the end of the ribbon and make the back look neat and you're done.  Hope you have fun making flowers.  Just work with what you have–that's what I did and I was very happy with the results.

Thanks for stopping by.
