D is for Dog

Today's card was a challenge to make a card with a dog so this card is especially for all animal lovers–hope you like it.  I actually did this card last night because my mind couldn't rest until I had the card designed.

I've had this stamp set for a while but just never made anything with it.  I thought it was a cute stamp set and I knew our grandchildren would especially like it because they have a small black dog.  I used the blurr technique so it looks like the dog is walking or maybe even running. To get this effect you stamp the image firmly and then lift and tap your stamp a couple of times while moving the stamp slightly.  On my first attempt, I used Basic Black Classic ink but I thought the dog wasn't black enough so I tried it again with Craft and  embossed the dog with Clear Embossing Powder.    The more I look at it, the more I like it.

I added a little faux stitching to the bottom left hand corner of the Whisper White cardstock to fill the space a bit.  I have also tried this technique with a butterfly and is simply stunning!

Thanks for stopping by.  See you tomorrow!
