Edmonton Regional Swaps +++!

Posted by on Sep 18, 2011 in Other

I attended the Edmonton Stampin' Up Regional yesterday–what a wonderful day it was!  I got a tonne of amazing ideas that I'd like to share with you today so this will be a little longer post .

One of the demo booths was geared especially to Halloween and how to make cool decorations.  This demo decorated paint cans for three occasions, but there are many more including baby, bridal, get well, birthday as well as others.  A 5" circle, cut with the circle cutter is just the right size to fit on the lid of the paint can.  The tips and tricks shared at this booth can easily be used for many other occasions/projects/cards.

Here's a couple paint can bucket photos that were on display: Halloween:

Here's some of the swaps I got.  This is a 5×5 square card created by Gail Lowe from Tisdale, Saskatchewan, Bringing the Art of Scrapbooking to Life.  The photo fails to show how beautiful this card is–this was a full card with the centre and also a decorated.  What a WOW!

My next card was created by Delphine Anderson, one of my downline team members and travelling partner, and features the Silver Glimmer paper #124005 in the Holiday Mini.   I love the ruffled Cherry Cobbler seam binding, Dazzling Diamonds as well as the rhinestones.  The background is a piece of Frostwood Lodge DSP #124002.

The next two cards were created by Jennifer Reynard–first card with Hostess set, Posey Punch the two step stamp set, Gently Falling from the Holiday Mini in Pool Party and Soft Suede. Leaves are stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock and then embossed with the Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder #119976.

Card #2 is done is Wisteria Wonder with Concord Crush, Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla CS. The leaves from Autumn Splendor #116503 are embossed with the new Pewter Embossing Powder #124114 and the Always Artichoke cardstock, embossed with the Stripes Embossing Folder #123128 has Champagne Shimmer paint  added for extra glimmer.  You can see she shimmer in the photo!  Yeh!

The next card was created by Sarita Chapdelaine for our SUDSOL swap who was one of our travelling partners to Edmonton.  The Frightful Sight designer DSP coordinates perfectly with the Dark & Dreary stamp set and the Spider Web textured impressions embossing folder.  The Happy Halloween sentiment is embossed with Silver embossing powder and dimensionals under the sentiment, the "31" and the spider really make this card pop!

The next three cards were created by Brenda Bedard.  Card #1 – Leaves of a Tree from the Holiday Mini in Naturals Ivory, Early Expresso and Pear Pizzaz CS, Early Expresso Classic Ink and Stampin' Write Markers –Luck Limeade, Peach Parfait and Cherry Cobbler. I love the layout of this card and the added texture created by Square Lattice Embossing folder and the Expresso Quilted Satin Ribbon (from the Holiday Mini).

Hello Card:  this card has a neat fold to it and displays perfectly–stamp sets used are My Friend and Posey Punch.  CS Colors:  Blushing Bride and Cherry Cobbler and  Inks:  Blushing Bride and Versamark.

This card was made by Marilyn, another one of our travelling partners to Edmonton.  She only found out on Wednesday that she'd be able to go and still managed to get some swaps done I'm pleased to have received one.  This card uses DSP, punches, the new Cherry Cobbler quilted ribbon and more.

I've got so many more cards and ideas to share and am excited about incorporating some of these new tips and tricks into my workshops, classes and clubs.  I need to get into my craft room now so I can create some more great projects using some of the new ideas I got yesterday.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I'll be back tomorrow!
