Vintage and more …
Yesterday I finished a vintage card I started this week and shared it with my Stamper's 10 Tech Club this afternoon. This card was a stepped up version of the one we did in our class. This card has a combination of three techniques: Faux Pearl, Vintage Wallpaper, Distressed.
To make the background, I stamped En Francais in Soft Suede Classic Ink on Very Vanilla cardstock. Next, I lightly brayered Blushing Bride Classic Ink followed by Crumb Cake Classic Ink to tone down the pink a bit. Then I wrinkled up the cardstock to distress it, opened it up and sponged Soft Suede Classic Ink on the folds and also the edges, after distressing the edges with the Cutter Kit #106958. Then I stamped the Flourish (from Elements of Style) with Early Expresso Craft Ink and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Then I added the Faux Pearl technique: dab Champagne Shimmer paint #116806 with a crumpled piece of Saran Wrap randomly onto distressed background or you can apply a thin layer with a brayer.
The combination of techniques used on the background were perfect to create that vintage look. The stamp set used to complete this card was Vintage Vogue. As a last minute add on, I added an Antique Brad #117273 around the Always Artichoke Seam Binding #121000.
I'm really pleased with the end result of this card–another one of my very own designs. Hope you like it too. Thanks for stopping by. See you tomorrow!
