Polished Stone!

Hi! Today's post was created by Jody Simpson.  The Polished Stone background is a fun technique that looks amazing in many color combinations.  The colors used to create this background are Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive.  If this technique is new to you, and you'd like to give it a try, here's how you do it.  Saturate a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol (70% – 90% is best).  Then add a drop or two of Pumpkin Pie reinker to the cotton ball and randomly dab on Glossy cardstock to add desired color.  Repeat using Old Olive reinker.  It is best to have less of the second color.  The rubbing alcohol dries quickly and your background is ready to use for your card creation.

In this card, Jody used the Haunted Forest stamp set, #123841, from the Holiday Mini and colored the image with markers.  I love the angle she used to frame the image on the black circle and the "Boo", attached with a Glimmer brad is so cute!

This is one of the techniques that my Technique Club is learning this month.  Each card is very individual as it is not possible to get two identical.  Consider trying this technique on your own–it's so much fun playing with color.

I'll be back with another post later today.  Thanks for stopping by.
