Sweet Soiree Decorative Masks

Posted by on Apr 16, 2018 in Techniques

Today’s card features brayering with the Sweet Soiree Decorative Mask from the Occasions catalogue.  I brayered Sweet Sugarplum on Pink Pirouette cardstock to get this look.  As you can see, there’s lots of layering on this card and the sentiment is popped up with dimensionals.  The extra flowers on the two opposite corners of the Whisper White card base add a little extra pop.  The Pink Pirouette Enamel heart beside the greeting is a lovely accent. Stampers at my Spring Escape last Saturday all got to make a card like this.  There are also other ways to use the masks, such as spritzing with color, but I totally loved the brayering.  The foam brayers are so easy to use, are washable and give a soft look.  Attendees loved this card as well as the other cards and projects that were created which I’ll be sharing over the next couple of days. In case you haven’t had a chance to look at the retired list yet, just a note of warning that when retiring products are gone, they’re gone!  Enamel Shapes, Rhinestones and Pearls are retiring along with a tonne of other great products to make room for new products so if you love any of these items, I would encourage you to stock up before they are gone for good. Thanks for visiting today.  Happy...

Lovely Wishes

Posted by on Apr 3, 2018 in Occasions, Techniques

Lovely Wishes featured on this card is a beautiful two step stamp set from the Occasions catalogue.  The Stamparatus, the best stamp positioning tool on the market, is perfect for two step stamping.  You can get a perfect stamp every time! The Stamparatus will be available for purchase in the Annual 2018-19 catalogue effective June 1, 2018. A number of Stampin’ Up Demonstrators and customers were able to reserve a Stamparatus during a designated reservation window in 2017.   Stamparatus reservations are now closed so if you weren’t able to reserve one, your opportunity will come in June. I used the lace stamp from Southern Serenade to stamp randomly on the edge of the card front to give added texture.  I hope you like this clean and simple card. Thanks for visiting today.  Happy...

Celebrate You Thinlits meet Brusho!  I’m sure you recognize these thinlits and many of you got them for FREE during Sale-a-bration, which ended on March 31.  The good news is that these thinlits will be carried over into the Annual 2018-19 Catalogue. The background was created with Brusho and then the thinlits were used to create the Eclipse Technique.  I love this simple yet beautiful card!  Hope you like it too! April is here and before long the snow will surely melt and spring will be here.  Besides spring, April is a great month to have a birthday so I’ll be celebrating mine along with two of my siblings, our son, friends and then there’s anniversaries and don’t forget my Retirement Party!  Yes, Stampin’Up Retired stamps and accessories.  Mark your calendar now  for April 30 and plan to attend if you are looking for some great bargains.  More details about the party will follow. Beautiful Peacock Celebration!

Posted by on Feb 28, 2018 in Birthday, Sale-a-bration 2018, Techniques

Today’s share features the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Beautiful Peacock, and heat embossing with color.  Unfortunately, the heat embossing doesn’t show on this photo, but the Tranquil Tide color is embossed.  Ink the peacock first with VersaMark Ink and then ink with Tranquil Tide Classic Ink and then stamp image.  Sprinkle Clear Embossing powder on stamped image and heat set.  Using this technique, you can virtually heat emboss any color you wish.  The secret is inking with VersaMark Ink first. This was one of three cards that stampers made at the February Technique Class.  If you would like to learn some old or new stamping techniques, consider attending one of my monthly Technique classes.  They are a lot of fun and inspiring.  As well, colored technique sheets are provided with complete instructions. Thanks for visiting today.  Happy...

Petal Palette Watermark

Posted by on Feb 25, 2018 in Occasions, Other, Techniques

The watermark background on this card is yet another sample using VersaMark Ink to create a watermark background.  Versamark is a clear sticky ink that can be used simply by stamping on cardstock to get this look. You can use it on any color of cardstock and the image you stamp will show up darker than the cardstock. This ink does not dry immediately so it allows you to heat emboss, if you wish.  This ink is very versatile and if you are not familiar with it, do some research to learn more about it or plan to come to one of my classes.  You are always welcome to attend.  You can reserve a spot in my classes directly from the class calendar which you can access from my blog.  Choose the class you are interested in and click RSVP.  Only some classes require a deposit to reserve your spot, however, an RSVP is always appreciated so I can prepare enough kits for all attendees. Thanks for visiting...
