Peace This Christmas!

Posted by on Aug 14, 2017 in Uncategorized

Peace this Christmas meets Embedded Embossing with Garden Trellis and Quilted Christmas Designer Series Paper in today’s post! I’ve been wanting to revisit the Embedded Embossing technique for some time…of course, I was itching to use the NEW quilted Christmas DSP so punched circles out of assorted patterns in 1 1/4″, 1″ and 3/4″, lightly glued them onto Whisper White Designer Series paper and embossed with the Garden Trellis Textured Embossing Folder.  Then I layered the quilted sheet on Real Red and layered all on a Garden Green card base.  Peace this Christmas is the stamp set used in this creation, currently in the annual Stampin’ Up catalogue. I love how this card came together.    If you like it, why not try to recreate this card.  You can use any colors and punches you like.  The Garden Trellis is a great folder to use for this technique because it has quite a lot of detail. Thanks for visiting today.  Happy crafting!  I’d love to see your embedded embossing...

Happy Anniversary

Posted by on May 3, 2017 in Uncategorized

Today’s card is an original, inspired by a photo I saw in a crafting magazine.  The card base is Melon Mambo with the coordinating Pop of Pink Designer Series Paper. This design is really easy to create: Cut a piece of DSP 4″ x 8″ and score on the long side at 4″. Then make a small pencil mark on the right side (short side) at the 2″ mark. Draw a pencil line from the 2″ mark to the 4″ score line. Make a second pencil mark from the 2″ pencil mark on the right to the top left corner of the DSP. Cut the wedges off and score on the 4″ score line. Layer on your card, add the greeting of your choice and you’re done! To add a little extra texture, you could emboss the Basic Black layer, as I did with the Stars embossing folder.  When I posted this photo, I noticed the alignment of the wedge was slightly off.  When you make yours, I know you’ll make the edges flush.  I used Tombow Multi purpose glue and it shifts a little when first placed.  I like this option, but you must be careful for the first few minutes until the glue is set. Thanks for visiting today.  Happy...
